The Lord Leycester Hospital is a medieval treasure, the first building being the original chapel, built in 1123. In 1571 a community of Master and Brethren was established, deserving military who served Crown and Country. Some of the eight ex-servicemen and their wives who live here will act as guides for our visit. Hill Close Gardens are hedged Victorian pleasure gardens, which capture the planting and personalities of their original owners. The plots are still very varied and individual.
Light refreshments are included: they will be served at Hill Close Gardens in the middle of the day.
