Gloucester Cathedral is dedicated to St Peter. The crypt, Nave and Chapter House date back to the 11th C. Edward II was buried at Gloucester and Henry VIII was the last King crowned there. We will take a guided tour (50 minutes) to be shown the many additions to the building in every style of Gothic architecture. We shall also visit the National Waterways Museum housed in a Victorian warehouse in Gloucester Docks. A guided tour (45 minutes) will tell us about the 200year story of inland waterways in England.
For lunch, either bring your own (a room has been booked for us to use in the Cathedral), or a small café is available in the Cathedral.
